Tell 5 Friends - The recommended starting age for a screening colonoscopy has been lowered from 50 to 45, meaning many more people are eligible for this life-saving screening. Early detection is key!
Early intervention and regular screening are key to reducing your risk. According to the American Cancer Society, men and women should begin screening for colorectal cancer at age 45. In most states, less than 60% of people are screened as recommended!
Colorectal cancer almost always develops from precancerous polyps (abnormal growths) in the colon or rectum. Screening tests can find precancerous polyps, so that they can be removed before they turn into cancer. Screening tests can also find colorectal cancer early, when treatment works best.
Find out if you need to be screened by going to Colorectal Cancer Alliance and taking their assessment here.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our mission. Our fundraising efforts are dedicated to offering financial support to individuals in need of assistance for colonoscopies, procuring essential supplies, and providing financial support to those battling colorectal cancer.

Our mission is to support and provide assistance to colorectal cancer patients & their families.
I, Phil, went in for a routine colonoscopy at the request of my doctor at the age of 45 and I came out with cancer that had already spread to the liver...stage IV. Had I waited until 50, the outcome would have been poor. In 2022, I was in ideal shape, running multiple miles each week, lifting weights and training for a marathon. I felt great and I had no symptoms. I went in because of my doctor's insistence and I thank her for her persistence.
The first question everyone asked was, "How can I help." I encourage everyone to tell five friends to prioritize a colonoscopy if they experience symptoms or upon reaching the age of 45.
